Nobody came close to Hwang Ye-nah on Saturday.

Not Yuka Saso, not Chatprapa Siriprakob, not even Princess Superal.

The 22-year-old from Daejong, South Korea, shot a three-under-par 69 and cruised to a coast-to-coast eight-stroke victory in the ICTSI Champion Tour at Malarayat in Lipa, Batangas.

Saso, a Fil-Japanese amateur standout, mounted a rally, but came no nearer than six shots even if she carded a day-best 66.

Counting her earlier rounds of 66-69, Hwang pooled a record 12-under 204 to rule the $75,000 event presented by Champion.

Though she started with a bogey, Hwang was flawless the rest of the way, sprinkling her round with four birdies in the next 12 holes to duplicate her triumph in the 2015 ICTSI Ladies Open at Southlinks, where she led from the start but had to ward off Superal’s charge to win by one. —ROY LUARCA
