The leadership crisis hounding the country’s tennis federation might not be resolved on schedule.
This developed after the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) made suggestions on how to proceed with the polls, slated this Friday.
“I am suggesting a democratic, representative election among true tennis stakeholders, comprising only of qualified members of Philta,” said POC observer Charlie Ho.
Former Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) president Salvador Andrada had said he would not seek another term after the group led by vice president Randy Villanueva protested against his election to the International Tennis Federation.
Andrada took over from former head and Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez after a snap election last year.
Villanueva claimed that under Philta rules, he should take over as president.
