In his first try, veteran cyclist Ronnel Hualda ruled the first annual Circulo Verde Chasedown in a dominating fashion last Saturday.

Hualda topped the men’s race, beating out fellow Go for Gold member Jerry Roa Aquino and Agustin Querimit, who placed second and third, respectively.

“This is my first time to participate in a race like this. I’m very happy that I was able to win,” Hualda said in Filipino.

In the eliminator format, the slowest rider each lap is given the boot until one is left to win it all.

With the win, Hualda earned a spot in the Red Bull Last Stand set later this year at Alamo, in San Antonio, Texas.

Japo Parcero, another first timer in the criterum race, won in the Fixed women’s race.

USAC Sanctioned Race Director Ravi Rajcoomar, and world-renowned cyclist Addison Zawada attended the event.
