Alab 5 all pumped-up vs Slingers
For all of the struggles of his battle-weary team, Alab Pilipinas coach Mac Cuan insists the 2017 Asean Basketball League playoffs couldn’t have come at a better time.
After Alab closed out the regular season with an impressive 107-85 road triumph over the Kaohsiung Truth Sunday night, Cuan said his team was ready to battle it out with the Singapore Slingers in their best-of-three semifinals starting this Sunday.
Article continues after this advertisement“You’ll see a ready Alab Pilipinas,” said Cuan, whose team finished the season with an 11-9 record to secure the third seed.
“We’re going for the win. No disrespect to Singapore but we’re confident coming in. We know that we can go toe-to-toe with them.”
Former collegiate star Kiefer Ravena would strengthen Alab’s roster after planing in from the United States on Monday to join the squad in the semifinal clash at OCBC Arena.
Ravena said he had recovered from a hand injury.
Lawrence Domingo fired 23 points while Ray Parks broke out of a slump with an all-around effort of 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists.
