Nearly a year since Kobe Bryant officially retired from the NBA, it’s still hard to imagine him away from the game of basketball.
The five-time NBA champion hasn’t been in an official game since he dropped a staggering 60 points in his swan song against the Utah Jazz last April.
With a lot of free time in his hands, Bryant ventured into one his hobbies, filmmaking, producing a six-part animated video series entitled “Canvas.”
The first video, “Guarding the Greats,” was released on Christmas Day, while the second one, “Canvas City: Musecage,” made its debut on Sunday (Monday in Manila).
As seen in the video, first released by ESPN, a bearded Bryant talks about about dark and light muses and how they play into the NBA.
Along with a purple puppet named Little Mamba, the one-time NBA MVP explained how to build a ”musecage,” which can help motivate players before crucial games. In a separate clip, the unusual duo even discussed how this season’s MVP front runners Russell Westbrook and James Harden abuse defenders off the pick and roll.
“Canvas City: Musecage” helps others better their best by delivering complex basketball insights in a light-hearted, easy-to-digest way. The show helps others understand the game at a higher level and offers a new voice to sports storytelling that will hopefully captivate the whole family,” Bryant described the show in a press release.
