With Art dela Cruz out due to a ruptured Achilles, Blackwater bolstered its line-up by acquiring the services of veteran gunner Nino Canaleta in a two-team, three-player trade approved on Wednesday.

The Elite sent swingmen Dylan Ababou and James Forrester to the Batang Pier in the deal.

The 35-year-old sniper will provide a huge boost to the Elite’s wings, as he will share minutes with Ronjay Buenafe, Bambam Gamalinda, and Reil Cervantes.

This is the second move from Blackwater in the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup after earlier plucking diminutive guard Mark Cruz from the free agent pool.

Blackwater is currently 0-3 this conference, with its next assignment against fellow winless squad NLEX on Friday.
