Palma laying everything on the line in last year with FEU
Far Eastern University skipper Remy Palma urged her teammates to put everything on the line as the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament heads into the final stretch.
The Lady Tamaraws are on a hunt for a potential Final Four spot and they bolstered their chances when they scored a three-set sweep of University of the East, 25-14, 25-18, 27-25, at Filoil Flying V Centre.
Palma told her teammates to help her goals of paying back FEU of the support it gave to her team.
“Personally, I don’t want my last playing year to end like this, this is my last chance so if we have to go through the eye of a needle we’ll go through the eye of a needle,” said Palma. “We have to give it all in our remaining games. It’s really all or nothing for us.”
“I told them ‘guys, we shouldn’t give up hope because our season’s not yet over, we still have games left and let’s focus on those. This is what will test our bond as a team. Help me, and let’s do this for our coaches, for the school.”
Palma and the Lady Tamaraws’ chances for a Final Four spot are still alive but with a 6-6 record, they only have an outside chance to move on to the next round.
FEU is behind National University (7-5) and will rely on other teams to lose if it wishes to enter the Final Four.
