Eleven titles are at stake when the opening leg of the 2017 Petron ROK Karting Super Series gets going this weekend at Palawan International Circuit in Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa City.
The races feature a three-cornered fight among Japanese ace Takaharu Nakamori of Apex Racing, Mikey Jordan of Jordan Racing Team and John Dizon of Edgesport Racing in both the ROK Senior Blaze 100 and Formula 125 Open Senior Blaze 100 classes.
The twisting, 1.35-kilometer Puerto Princesa venue will again test the karters, the majority of whom also saw action in the first four races of the Petron X30 Challenge series, in the premier races that require them the use of ROK engines. —STEVE SILVA, RACING CONTRIBUTOR
