Cignal, Generika-Ayala triumph

Cignal and Generika-Ayala made short work of their respective foes to end their campaigns on a high note in the 2017 Belo Philippine Superliga (PSL) Invitational Conference yesterday at FilOil Flying V Centre.
The HD Spikers clobbered Foton, 25-20, 25-18, 25-22, while the Lifesavers crushed Cocolife, 25-18, 26-24, 26-24.
Generika-Ayala settled for fifth in the tournament, while Cignal’s final position will be determined after the Petron-Kobe Shinwa game being played at press time.
Cherry Vivas and Paneng Mercado led Cignal’s balanced attack, along with Royse Tubino, Jovelyn Gonzaga and Janine Marciano.
Vivas finished with nine points while Mercado had eight points for Cignal, which drew a combined 19 points from Tubino, Gonzaga and Marciano.
