Que seeks 2nd straight PGT romp at Eastridge

Angelo Que tries to sustain his dominant form when the Philippine Golf Tour resumes with the ICTSI Manila Masters unfolding Wednesday at Eastridge Golf Club in Binangonan, Rizal.

The three-time Asian Tour winner cruised to a nine-shot victory over Japanese Toru Nakajima in the circuit’s kickoff leg at Anvaya last February and is confident of regaining the title in the P3 million event he topped in 2015.

Though he landed a lowly 21st in last month’s Solaire Philippine Open, Que is eager to gain momentum for the resumption of his Japan PGA Tour campaign next week.

The 34-year-old Que also wants to atone for his sixth place finish in last year’s Manila Masters won by Clyde Mondilla via playoff over Jobim Carlos.

Out to foil Que’s title bid are reigning PGT Order of Merit king Tony Lascuña, Jay Bayron, Elmer Salvador and Zanieboy Gialon. Nakajima heads the foreign challengers that include Nicolas Paez of the US, Korean-American Micah Shin, and resident Dutch campaigner Guido Van der Valk. —ROY LUARCA
