/ 12:42 AM April 03, 2017

Johnny Arcilla and PJ Tierro renew their rivalry in the men’s division while sisters Clarice and Christine Patrimonio forged a title duel in the distaff side in the PPS-PEPP Brookside Open at Brookside Hills Tennis Club in Cainta over the weekend.

Arcilla, many time conqueror of Tierro in the Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala Open circuit, subdued third seed Leander Lazaro, 6-2, 6-4, while Tierro thwarted No. 5 Ronard Joven 6-4, 6-4, in the P300,000 event hosted by BHTC president Allan del Castillo. They were disputing the crown worth P50,000 at presstime.

Clarice hacked out a 7-6(1), 6-3 victory over Rachellde de Guzman while Christine routed Chloe Sazara, 6-1, 6-0, to seal their clash for the P25,000 top purse. —ROY LUARCA
