WATCH: John Cena pops the question at WrestleMania
Wedding bells are ringing.
John Cena proposed to girlfriend Nikki Bella Sunday (Monday Manila time) at WrestleMania 33 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando after beating The Miz and Maryse in their mixed tag team match.
Finally, after weeks of speculation whether Cena would commit to another relationship, the 16-time WWE champion recalled his moment just before Bella underwent neck surgery in early 2016.
“Right as they were wheeling you to the OR (operating room), you were glassy and in-and-out, and my last chance, the very last second, I said stop. And I leaned in and I whispered, ‘Can you hear me?’
And you said, ‘Yes.’ And I said, ‘Well, I only have one question.’ You said, ‘What is it?’ I said, ‘Do you know one day, I’m going to marry you?’ And you said, ‘Yes.’,” he recounted. “I just need you to say ‘Yes’ one more time.”
Bella sealed the answer with a kiss in front of a packed crowd inside the Citrus Bowl.
The two began dating in 2012, but Cena has been adamant from entering a relationship after his divorce with Elizabeth Huberdeau, which was documented on the E! series Total Divas and Total Bellas.
Cena and Bella are expected to take time off of WWE television following WrestleMania. CBB
