POC warns tennis body

If the stakeholders of tennis don’t get their acts together, the Philippine Olympic Committee could suspend the Philippine Tennis Association.

“It’s already affecting the athletes,” said POC observer Charlie Ho on Wednesday at Wack Wack GCC.

Filipino-Americans Treat Huey, Ruben Gonzales and Nino Alcantara begged off from the Davis Cup tie against Thailand in Bangkok set to begin Friday.

Other stakeholders have also backed out of Philta tournaments, including the PCA Open that features the sport’s young stars.
