Kim Kianna Dy and De La Salle University was subjected to harsh reality check back in early March when it lost in four sets to Ateneo in the much-ballyhooed rematch of the UAAP Season 78 Finals.

Come Saturday, however, Dy and the Lady Spikers plan to turn the tables on the Lady Eagles.

“I’m super excited and I’m fired up at the same time,” said Dy who had 15 points in the Lady Spikers’ 26-24, 26-24, 21-25, 25-17 loss to Ateneo in the first round. “We have the motivation because we lost in round one.”

Dy, whose Lady Spikers are currently at the top of the standings with an 11-2 slate, said their loss to the Lady Eagles motivated them further in the second round where they are undefeated so far after six games.

“We have that fire in our eyes and we’ll show that once we face Ateneo,” said D whose Lady Spikers finished the first round with a 5-2 card behind Ateneo’s 6-1. “We’ll show that we can win against the Lady Eagles.”

“Of course what we want is the no.1 spot, that’s our goal,” said Dy. “It’s an advantage once you get the first seed because you’ll get the confidence going to the Final Four.”
