NLEX combo guard Kevin Alas put the blame on his shoulders after the Road Warriors were subjected to a disappointing 126-121 loss at the hands of TnT in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Friday at Mall of Asia Arena.
Alas said he wasted several opportunities in the overtime period after helping NLEX build a 29-point lead, 89-60, early in the third quarter.
“I feel like I didn’t meet the responsibilities given to me as the team’s point guard, especially when we got to overtime,” said Alas who finished with 19 points, five rebounds, and two assists.

“I think I forced my shots in the overtime period.”
Alas practically went invisible in the extra period when he scored just one point, going 1-of-4 from the line and 0-of-2 from the field.
NLEX’s third-year guard added they just have to move on from the loss and try to improve from their 0-5 record.
“It’s frustrating and the loss really hit our morale, but we just have to move on,” said Alas. “We have to practice hard and keep in improving so that we won’t commit the same mistakes in future games.”
“We have to be more mature because we can’t close out games.”
