Given the chance to gather the country’s motorcycle enthusiasts, Koronadal Mayor Peter Miguel found it prudent to try to break world records as well.
With his city hosting the 23rd National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs annual convention, Miguel hopes to assemble thousands of motorcycle riders, including the “big bikers,” in the event slated April 22 to 29.
“That’s one of our main tasks, try to break the Guinness World Record with about 2,500 riders,” said Miguel, president of the Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Philippines Inc., in a recent press conference at Ropali Classics in Pasig City.
India currently holds the world record with 1,700 riders.
Miguel likewise aims to surpass the most engines started simultaneously and most motorcycle horns sounded simultaneously on April 29 in the event backed by the Tourism department, Petron, BMW, Ducati, Kawasaki, Suzuki and KTM.
