Seeing Star’s unbeaten run end on Sunday at the hands of Ginebra, 113-98, Paul Lee said that the team must get back to its old ways to recover from this disheartening loss.
“We need to stay on our system. We’re not going to be a great team if we play one-on-one,” he said.
The Gin Kings stifled the Hotshots in the second half of their much-anticipated Manila Clasico tiff, limiting the latter to a 37-percent shooting from the field, down from their 45-percent shooting average prior to the game.
Lee said Ginebra’s defense made life hard for Star, especially for import Tony Mitchell.
“Credit to their defense because they really made it tough for us to make our shots. They frustrated us, especially Tony,” he said.
Lee, however, said that the Hotshots have no time to dwell on this defeat as they gear up for another tough challenge against San Miguel on Sunday.
“We need to forget this and prepare for our next game,” he said.
