Senen Dueñas, the former right-hand man of Pido Jarencio during his tenure at University of Santo Tomas, passed away Wednesday due to complications following his chest surgery.
Dueñas was 52.
As per The Varsitarian, UST’s official student publication, Dueñas passed away at 6:20 am at Delos Santos Medical Center.
Dueñas served as the Growling Tigers’ drill coach from 2006, Jarencio’s first year with the team, until 2015.
He then followed Jarencio as part of the Globalport coaching staff in the PBA.
Dueñas was also a varsity during his time as a student, not with the Tigers but with the Golden Booters in the 1980s.
