No injury to Peek artery

MANILA, Philippines—Talk N’ Text power forward Ali Peek, who was shot by a still unidentified gunman in the nape at the parking lot of the RFM gym in Mandaluyong on Monday evening, did not sustain any injury to his artery.

A statement released by neurosurgeon Dr. Gap Legaspi said “an angiogram performed (Saturday) showed that bullet is right beside the artery, not pressing on it. There is enough space for fibrous tissue to form around the bullet… There is no urgency to take bullet out now. No surgery needed at this time but need to monitor.”
