Gilas Pilipinas continued to deal with injuries in its buildup for the 2017 Seaba Championship.

It was Calvin Abueva’s turn to exit the team’s practice early after suffering a busted lip on Monday at Kerry Sports Manila in Taguig.

Abueva was on the receiving end of an inadvertent hit from teammate Almond Vosotros during the team scrimmages.

The blow left the 28-year-old with a bloodied upper lip as he left the venue an hour into the practice.

Team manager Butch Antonio and national coach Chot Reyes, though, didn’t seem to be too concerned.

“It’s just a busted lip,” Antonio said in Filipino.

“Calvin will be fine,” Reyes said.

Abueva was rushed to Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan for further treatment.
