Limited to a spectator anew on Thursday, June Mar Fajardo still kept a keen eye on coach Chot Reyes’ schemes from the sidelines.
“I’m watching what coach is teaching,” said Fajardo in Filipino as he sat the practice session out due to his sore right knee.
But Fajardo’s dedication to learn remains as he tried to absorb every lesson in preparation for the 2017 Seaba Championships in May.
“That’s why I’m here, that even though I’m not joining them on the floor, I’m seeing what coach wants us to run,” he said.
Fajardo has yet to participate in the grind since the daily Gilas Pilipinas practices began last Monday.
However, he shared that he would finally join the team when practices resume on Sunday in preparation for the 2017 PBA All-Star Week.
“I’ll be on the court next week,” he said.
Fajardo will suit up for the Gilas squad in Cagayan de Oro on April 26 before teaming up with the Visayas All-Stars in Lapu-Lapu, Cebu on April 30.
