Villegas, FEU ready for another go around against NU

Far Eastern University has staved off elimination on Sunday, and come Wednesday the Tamaraws are fully ready to duplicate what they just did.
Setter Ronchette Villegas said they look forward to meeting the second-seeded Bulldogs once more as they attempt to complete the upset and go straight to the UAAP Season 79 men’s volleyball finals.
“We’ll continue to fight and take on the challenge that will be given to us,” said Villegas after their four-set win, 22-25, 26-24, 28-26, 25-17 at Mall of Asia Arena.

FEU’s lower seed puts it at a disadvantage, as NU needs to be beaten twice for the Tamaraws to advance to the championship round and take on defending champions Ateneo.
Villegas, who had 44 excellent sets against NU, said they just have to stick to what worked for them in their first semifinals game of the season.
FEU dropped the first set after failing to calm down and played with tension they eventually managed to shake off in the latter sets.
“I tried to calm myself down because if I force the issue, my spikers will be thrown off their rhythm,” said Villegas. “So I waited for my middle hitter’s movements, and if the defense reacts I just passed it to my wings.”
Villegas’ adjustments led FEU to score on 47 spikes on 125 attempts.
