Stanley Pringle orchestrated GlobalPort’s 105-86 mauling of Mahindra in the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The speedy playmaker unloaded 17 of his 24 points in the first three quarters, while also dishing out five assists and three rebounds to help the Batang Pier rise to a 2-5 slate.

Malcolm White also scattered 16 markers and 17 boards as he aided Pringle in helping GlobalPort break away in the second quarter thanks to a 27-point explosion.

Von Pessumal also shot 4-of-9 from threes to finish with 14 points off the bench, including a three-pointer at the 8:00 mark of the fourth period to give the Batang Pier their biggest lead of the game at 31, 92-61.

“That’s what we’re hoping, that the bench players will contribute,” said coach Franz Pumaren as he got 35 points from his reserves.

“Right now, we can’t afford to make any mistakes. We’re carving our own path. We cannot rely on other teams beating the other teams. We just have to continue playing good basketball, hopefully get some wins.”

Mike Cortez chipped in 12 markers and four rebounds, JR Quiñahan had 11 points and four boards, and Aaron Aban got 10 in the dominant conquest.

Terrence Romeo was in uniform but sat on the sidelines as he continues his recovery from last week’s battle with typhoid fever.

Keith Wright topped Mahindra with 23 points and nine rebounds, while Reden Celda poured 16 of his 18 points in the team’s failed fourth quarter uprising.

Their efforts, though, proved to be for naught as the Floodbuster stumbled to their fifth straight loss and dropped to a 1-7 card.
