Remy Palma has met the end of her UAAP career, and as painful as her exit may be, she has fully accepted her fate.
FEU lost its lone Final Four game in the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament against Ateneo 25-22, 25-10, 16-25, 26-24, resulting to a tear-filled exit for Palma.
“That’s the sport, you win and you lose,” said Palma Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena. “I just have to accept but this is too painful for me. I don’t want this season to end this way but that’s the way it is and I just have to accept this.”
Palma, who has been a constant voice in the FEU locker room in their championship push, is the lone Lady Tamaraw to leave the team this season.
FEU managed to take the fourth-best record in the league with an 8-6 card but that’s the most the Lady Tamaraws managed.
And despite the sorry exit, Palma said she’ll bring her five-year experience in the UAAP to wherever she’ll go next.
“My five years in the UAAP has been a blessing for me,” said Palma, who finished with 12 points in her final UAAP match. “But this isn’t the end for me, I still have so much to prove because I will still continue to grow as an athlete.”
