For National University’s Bryan Bagunas, it’s his team’s immeasurable chemistry that can prove pivotal in the Bulldogs’ fourth straight UAAP men’s volleyball finals series against Ateneo.

NU and Ateneo have two titles apiece in the last four years, and with an opportunity to break the tie, Bagunas knows they have to stick together if they ever plan to win the Season 79 championship.

“I think our advantage is our chemistry, because we are far more bonded together and I know that we will fight until the end,” said Bagunas Wednesday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

Bagunas had a game-high 23 points against Far Eastern University in NU’s five-set win, 23-25, 25-20, 15-25, 25-21, 15-12, in the semifinals’ second game

NU had a twice-to-beat advantage as the second seed but that edge proved futile when FEU forged a do-or-die and got a 2-1 set advantage in the decider before the Bulldogs were able to turn things to their favor.

“Our team will fight because we want to repay all the sacrifices our coaching staff has done for us,” said Bagunas. “The trust is there and that’s why we’ll continue to fight.”
