WITH THE ageless Glenn Aguilar opting to compete in another prestigious race in Quirino Province, Davao-pride Bornok Mangosong of Team UA Mindanao emerged as the top favorite to rule the third leg of the action-filled Diamond Motor Supercross Series. Mangosong of Yamaha finished second to Aguilar of KTM in the first two legs but is expected to put himself back in contention for the prestigious overall title when he competes in the elite Pro Open April 29, Saturday at the Mx Messiah Fairgrounds in Taytay, Rizal. ‘‘I expect an all out effort for the riders, especially the non-winners yet, to win and be able to position themselves in contention for the overall championship,’’ said Sam Tamayo of Generation Congregation and organizing Xtreme Adrenaline Sports. ‘‘Feeling excited for this Saturday! It’s going to be a great day! Thank you Lord for reminding me today what it’s all about, why we organize these events…it’s not about us so as if we should do things our way. You alone are God and we dedicate the race this Saturday to you.’’ The 42-year-old Aguilar,  the country’s leading rider, will defend his title in the Motorismo sa Quirino which is fully supported by Governor Junie Fua. The overall champion in the five-leg series will earn P50,000. Spicing up the leg is the Diamond Autotune Battle of the Bands. Firefalldown with lead singer Jon Blaylock will also thrill the fans.
