JR Quiñahan gets a chance to give his hometown fans a treat as he joins the Visayas All-Stars in Cebu for the final leg of the 2017 PBA All-Star Week on Sunday.

The slimmed-down GlobalPort slotman has been chosen as the replacement for Aldrech Ramos, who is nursing a fractured nose.

Quiñahan is just overwhelmed with the chance to represent his compatriots, while also giving Gilas Pilipinas a run for their money.

“I’m happy that I’m part of the All-Star team. It’s an honor and it makes me feel proud playing here in Cebu. We’ll give our best to help Gilas for its preparations,” he said in Filipino.

Quiñahan, an alumnus of the University of the Visayas, will be reuniting with his former Rain or Shine cohorts Jeff Chan and Jericho Cruz in the squad.

Ginebra coach Tim Cone will call the shots for the Visayas All-Stars, as his crew will have the first workout with the newly announced Gilas roster for the upcoming 2017 Seaba Championships in May.
