Kim Fajardo has lived a UAAP career worthy of envy.

She has won two titles, two Best Setter awards and the reputation of being arguably the best setter of her batch.

And as she plays in the last finals series of her collegiate career, Fajardo said Tuesday that her time as a Lady Spiker will end sooner than later.

Fajardo declared Game 2 against Ateneo on Saturday will be her last game in the UAAP.

“Saturday will be my last game,” said Fajardo after her Lady Spikers turned back Ateneo in Game 1 of the Season 79 women’s volleyball Finals, 21-25, 29-27, 25-22, 25-20 at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

A victory on Saturday will give La Salle its second straight women’s volleyball title and 10th overall.

Still, Fajardo knows the Lady Eagles plan to extend her stay in the UAAP.

“Of course, Ateneo will come back, but it’s on us [Lady Spikers] on how we’ll defend our title,” said Fajardo, who had 10 points and 37 excellent sets in the victory. “This will be a test of our character.”
