Adamson notched its second straight victory after turning back San Sebastian, 64-61, in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup Wednesday.
Sean Manganti and Jerrick Ahanmisi delivered the clutch baskets for the Falcons at San Juan’s Filoil Flying V Centre to keep Adamson spotless.
“For me this is a good experience for us, winning two close games,” said Adamson head coach Franz Pumaren after his Falcons escaped with a 61-56 overtime win over Arellano University in their opener.
“Toward the game I let them to play their own game but the only problem with that is that they get their egos involved. Still, it’s a good test and training for us, at least we’re getting used to playing in this kind of situation.”
College of St. Benilde started off its campaign with a resounding 64-49 victory over Mapua.
The win was the first for new coach TY Tang in a major tournament.
“I want to put an emphasis on defense, hard work, and the intensity we put out each and every game,” said the 32-year-old Tang.
