Valdez carries Creamline to first win
Turning back its opening day hiccup, Creamline cruised to its first win in the 2017 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference women’s division with a 25-23, 25-16, 25-22 straight-set victory over Air Force Thursday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Alyssa Valdez powered the Cool Smashers to the win with her 21 points, powered by 18 kills and three service aces.
Article continues after this advertisement“It’s expected from Ly,” said assistant coach Sherwin Meneses. “I told her, she might have to hit the ball a thousand times, so we really expected Alyssa to deliver us the points and it turned out good for us.”
Ivy Remulla added 10 markers, while Coleen Bravo had six for Creamline.
Meneses, who called the shots for the Cool Smashers for coach Tai Bundit, said that it was a better outing from his squad contrary to their opening day fourth-set loss to Perlas Spikers.
