La Salle’s two Kims are aching to end it all Saturday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Middle and opposite spiker Kim Kianna Dy and setter Kim Fajardo are hoping Game 2 of the UAAP women’s volleyball title series would be their last collegiate game.
But that would mean La Salle finishes off archrival Ateneo for a back-to-back crown—something they know won’t come easily.
“Of course they (Ateneo) will come back, it’s only up to us how to adjust,” said Fajardo of the 4 p.m. main event.
In the men’s finals, Ateneo is also gunning for a championship sweep against National University in the game that starts at noon.
“I’m excited to defend the crown and hopefully it would be our last game in college,” said Dy. “But it would be a test of character for us not to be too confident and [handle how Ateneo will come back].”
La Salle coach Ramil de Jesus said they still have a lot of things to improve on, especially on net defense.
“Most of the time we try to catch up on defense because Ateneo is very aggressive,” said De Jesus , referring to their 21-25, 29-27, 25-22, 25-20 win in Game 1, their first victory over the Lady Eagles who beat them twice in the elimination round.
