Jonathan Tiu of JCT Racing guns for a Southern Series title repeat as the final round of the 2017 National Drag Racing Championships roars off Saturday at Batangas Racing Circuit.
Tiu, who missed the last two races due to engine problems, paces the Quick 8 overall derby with 26 points, five points clear of Allan Ararao.
Romualdo Vasquez paces the M&H Pro class with 17 points, followed by Ryan Quimpo and Jayson Millet of TEMZ with 15 each.
Carlo Latayan looked on course for the Expert class title with 20 points, five ahead of Venancio Campued (15) and 10 clear of Victor Sherwin Benito (10), while Stephen Jay Esguerra paces the Sportsman race with 25 points. —STEVE SILVA
