Despite settling for a draw against Arellano, Jeron Teng liked what he saw in his new team in PBA D-League newcomer Flying V.
“We didn’t get the result that we wanted but it’s a good start for us,” Teng said.
The Thunder fought the tough Chiefs to a 77-77 stalemate in a tuneup game on Friday, where they had to crawl back from a 75-67 hole in the final three minutes.
Teng said the game showed Flying V that it still has a lot to improve on heading into the upcoming 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup.
“At least, we know what we have to work on and adjust for the D-League,” he said.
The former La Salle star is also upbeat with the team’s chances, especially with the familiar faces he’s teaming up with the Thunder.
“The potential for this team is high. We got a lot of talented players but we have to figure out how to play together,” he said.
Teng leads the Flying V squad together with ex-pros Paulo Hubalde, Eric Salamat, and Gab Banal.
