UAAP Season 79 MVP Majoy Baron would rather listen to her supporters than be affected by her doubters who question her MVP award.

“I respect people’s opinions, but I’d rather think of the people who are happy that I got the award,” Baron said in Filipino.

Baron also had the final say as she helped La Salle claim its second consecutive women’s volleyball title with a sweep of Ateneo in their best-of-three finals on Saturday and give captain Kim Fajardo a proper sendoff.

“We’re so happy because we gave ate Kim the exit she deserved. It’s such a memorable feeling, and we’re all happy to have done this for coach and for all of my hardworking teammates,” she said after the Lady Spikers survived the Lady Eagles in five sets.

DLSU coach Ramil De Jesus believes the MVP award is a validation of Baron’s efforts throughout the season.

“I always tell them to always give their 100 percent and maybe, it’s just a reward, a bonus that people notice their stats,” he said of Baron. “I’m really happy for her.”
