PSI to gather data profile of athletes

Over the next two years, the Philippine Sports Institute will be busy collecting the profiles of young athletes all over the country apart from training the coaches to become certified trainers based on international standards.

The succeeding stops of the sports institute, the operation of which is fully backed by the Philippine Sports Commission, will be in Vigan City the whole week, Marawi City in Lanao Del Sur and Laoag, where athlete testing and profiling will be done.

PSI national training director Marc Edward Velasco said the gathering of data for the database of athletes would see fruition after 2019 when the athletes begin to mature for high-level competition.
