The Golden State Warriors continue their domination of the 2017 NBA playoffs, going undefeated in their first seven games.

However, last year’s runner-ups have been without the services of their bench boss Steve Kerr, who recently underwent a delicate spinal cord leak procedure on his back.

Fortunately for the team, last year’s NBA Coach of the Year is now on his way to recovery, according to the team’s general manager Bob Myers.

“He was at Duke, he had the procedure done Friday,” the Warriors executive confirmed to reporters at Salt Lake City on Sunday (Monday in Manila), as relayed by Reuters.

“Even the doctors aren’t entirely sure of recovery time and that’s why we’ve been a little indefinite about everything. We don’t know. But the procedure went well as far as we know,” he shared.

Although signs point out to a full recovery, Myers remained mum about a possible timetable for the 51-year-old’s return to the sidelines.

“Now it’s a case of how it takes and when he might or might not be back. The good news is it’s on the path to recovery. I wish I could be more definitive,” he said.

Currently, assistant coach Mike Brown has taken over the reigns in Kerr’s absence.

Kerr, who missed a substantial amount of games prior to the start of last season due to back surgery, experienced the same symptoms after Game 2 of the Warriors’ first-round matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers last month.

The Warriors, on the other hand, are one win away from advancing to the Western Conference finals, as they face the Utah Jazz on Tuesday. Khristian Ibarrola/JB
