Rebisco-PSL volley squad draws ‘Group of Death’

Bunched in the “Group of Death,” Rebisco-PSL Manila vowed to dial in its ‘die-hard” attitude in the coming Asian Women’s Club Championships in UST-Kamenegorsk, Kazakhstan.

Team captain Rachel Anne Daquis said improving on the all-time best seventh place in the tournament won’t be easy, but “we all know that we play with a big heart, and everything is possible.”

The country is bunched with Japan, China and Vietnam in Group B of the meet slated May 25 to 31.

Also in the team are league stalwarts Kim Fajardo, Jaja Santiago, Mika Reyes, Denden Lazaro, Bia General, Aby Marano, Maika Ortiz, Gen Casugod, Ces Molina, Aiza Pontillas, Jovelyn Gonzaga and Rhea Dimaculangan.

Daquis and the rest of the squad appeared as guests in Tuesday’s PSA Forum at Golden Phoenix Hotel along with PSL officials led by Ramon “Tats” Suzara and Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas top officials Joey Romasanta and Pete Cayco.

“We expect the players to play in the highest level and improve on previous finishes,” said head coach Francis Vicente.
