Emerging as the undoubted leader for San Sebastian, Michael Calisaan towed the Golden Stags to a 76-68 victory over St. Benilde for their first win in the 2017 Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup Wednesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The senior forward stuffed the stat sheets with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, and a block to help the Stags  score their first victory.

Allyn Bulanadi added 15 markers and three boards, RK Ilagan had 13 points, eight assists, and three rebounds, and Jason David got 12 points for San Sebastian.

“There’s a similarity in our game with Benilde because we both have small teams. But our traps worked today and we defended well, which made it hard for them to make their shots,” said San Sebastian coach Egay Macaraya.

San Sebastian jumped to a 34-26 lead at halftime then, extending it to 23, 55-32, after a pair of Ilagan freebies with 1:33 remaining in the third quarter before holding off the Blazers late.

Edward Dixon paced St. Benilde (1-1) with 11 points and six rebounds, while Yankie Haruna got a near double-double with 10 markers, nine boards, and four dimes in the loss.
