DOJ holds inquest for ex-PBA player arrested in drug bust
Former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Dorian Alan Peña was subjected to inquest proceedings at the Department of Justice (DOJ) following his arrest in a buy-bust operation in Mandaluyong City.
Assistant State Prosecutors Jocelyn Dugay and Ethel Rhea Suril conducted the inquest proceedings Thursday based on the complaint filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Article continues after this advertisementPeña, together with Ledy Mea Vilchez and Jose Paolo Ampeso, are facing a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act specifically for sale of dangerous drugs, maintenance of a den, possession of dangerous drugs, apparatus and other paraphernalia and conspiracy.
They were arrested Wednesday by members of the NBI’s Task Force on Illegal Drugs in Merryland Village, Mandaluyong City.
Authorities seized two plastic sachets of shabu and other drug paraphernalia from the suspects.
