Seaba: Thailand whips debuting Vietnam for 2nd win

Thailand bucked the absence of Chitchai Ananti and cruised to a 76-51 victory over Vietnam for its second win in the 2017 Seaba Championship Saturday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Kannut Samerjai and Wutipong Dasom picked up the slack for the Thais as their leading scorer sat out the game after suffering a mild left leg injury in their game against Malaysia on Friday.

Samerjai topped Thailand with 14 points and four assists, while Dasom added 11 markers, two rebounds, and a steal.

The duo set the tone early for the Thais, jumping on a 22-6 first quarter lead before making it, 52-24, midway through the third quarter.

Anuruk Lodliang also had a near double-double of 10 points, nine boards that went with two steals, and two blocks for unbeaten Thais.

Tran Vu Linh got 10 points, six rebounds, and two assists for debuting Vietnam, while Nguyen Van Hung also had 10 markers and seven boards.
