Coach upbeat despite Malaysia’s 0-2 start in Seaba

Despite Malaysia’s 0-2 start in the 2017 Seaba Championship, head coach Goh Cheng Huat said he still liked what he has seen so far from his players.
“We didn’t realize how strong the opposite teams are. Thailand wasn’t that aggressive, so we ran our offense well in the first half. Suddenly, when we faced an aggressively defending team in the second half, our offense wasn’t moving. For this game, we had a hard time scoring against Indonesia,” he said.

Goh also wants his team to quickly put its losses behind and focus more on its remaining games in hopes to finish the tournament strong.
“After these two losses, there are still other teams in the Southeast Asian region that we believe we can compete against,” he said.
Article continues after this advertisement“Hopefully come the SEA Games, we will learn something about this. The coming SEA Games will be in our home country, so this tournament is a guide for us to see how Malaysia’s level is.”
Malaysia will faces host Philippines on Sunday.
