Mclaude Guadaña tallied a triple-double to lead Batang Gilas Pilipinas to a 96-73 victory over Indonesia in the 2017 Seaba Under-16 Championship Monday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The swingman from Lyceum-Cavite racked up 19 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds that went with four steals as the Philippines cruised to its second win in as many games.
RC Calimag set the tone for Batang Gilas, pouring nine of his 17 markers in the first quarter as the home squad started the game on a 15-2 charge to run away with the win.

Though victorious once again, coach Mike Oliver chided his wards for playing with a bit of complacency as Batang Gilas saw its 36-point lead, 71-35, in the third quarter cut to 20, 77-57, with 9:21 left in the payoff period.
“We were super relaxed. We felt we could run over them because they are smaller. The intensity and aggressiveness when we got to a big lead suddenly got lost,” he said in Filipino. “I was just pressuring them to bring that intensity back.”
Felix Alexander anchored Indonesia with 18 points and three assists, while Darryl Sebastian got 16 markers and five boards.

Malaysia held a precarious 66-62 lead after an undergoal stab from Thailand’s Natthanon Chayapiwat with 1:49 to go.
