Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri knows that a perfect Southeast Asian Games hosting would mean putting the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee on the same page.
But the contrasting opinions of the government sports agency and the local Olympic body on how to run Philippine sports offer a puzzle that Zubiri has to solve.
“This will be quite difficult because we have to unite them,” said Zubiri, appointed by President Duterte to head the organizing committee for the country’s SEA Games hosting in 2019.
“We all know that there’s some sort of misunderstanding between the two, but I believe we can make it (unity) happen,” added Zubiri.
