Lascuña, Stojanovski sizzle at Southwoods with 62
Tony Lascuña and Macedonian Peter Stojanovski carded a record-equaling 10-under 62s Wednesday as the players frolicked in the absence of the wind at Southwoods’ Legends course.
Lascuna gunned down five birdies on each side en route to a 31-31 that Stojanovski later tied with a 32-30 in the first round of the ICTSI Manila Southwoods Championship.
They bettered American Lexus Keoninh’s 63.
Nilo Sahalog went birdie-eagle-birdie-bogey-birdie from No. 13 to fire a 64, surpassing Jobim Carlos’ 65.
Elmer Salvador, American Nicolas Paez, Aussie Nathan Park, Zanieboy Gialon and amateur Ryan Monsalve were bunched at 66.
Miguel Tabuena landed at 67 with Albin Engino, Japanese Hirotaro Naito, Gerald Rosales and Clyde Mondilla. —ROY LUARCA
