The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) will finally have a truly Reinforced Conference after the release of International Transfer Certificates (ITCs) of the league’s imports Wednesday, a source told the Inquirer.
The release came on the heels of the decision of the international volleyball federation (FIVB) to grant an extension for the PVL to run its reinforced conference past the initial deadline of May 15.
FIVB president Ary Graca emailed a letter to Asian Volleyball Confederation president Dr. Saleh Bin Nasser granting his request on behalf of the PVL to the Reinforced Conference until June 15.
Some PVL teams have already secured ITCs but they were not allowed to play just to be fair with other teams whose reinforcements still have no ITCs.
That means the PVL could finally see imports playing Thursday when defending champion Pocari Sweat and BaliPure collide at 4 p.m. Thursday in what is seen as a finals preview at FilOil Flying V Centre.
Hands down the hottest team in the league, Pocari has strung up five straight triumphs after a 0-2 start and that should spell trouble for erstwhile unbeaten BaliPure.
At 6:30 p.m., Perlas battles a slumping Air Force.
