Roach trains Pacquiao

/ 02:05 AM May 23, 2017

Manny Pacquiao’s training shifted to a higher gear Monday following the arrival of chief trainer Freddie Roach from Los Angeles.

The Fighting Senator, preparing for his defense of the World Boxing Organization welterweight crown against Jeff Horn on July 2 in Brisbane, Australia, worked the mitts with Roach at the Elorde Gym near SM Mall of Asia.

While Roach was pleased with Pacquiao’s physical condition, the Hall of Fame trainer cautioned that there was still more work to be done as Horn’s a dangerous opponent.

After studying tapes of Horn’s previous fights, Roach concluded that the unbeaten Australian could punch, especially with his right hook.
Roach, however, is confident Pacquiao will prevail owing to his speed, experience and ring ability.
