Jeron Teng came up with the big plays down the stretch to rescue Flying V and pull off the come-from-behind 86-84 victory over Cignal HD Thursday in the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The highly-touted swingman drove to the right and banked the tough go-ahead leaner against the defense of Raymar Jose with 4.3 seconds remaining, before completing the and-one to put the Thunder up by two.
The Hawkeyes still had a chance to win the game, but Jason Perkins struggled to get a basket on his drive in the waning seconds of the game.

Teng’s endgame heroics capped off his 33-point outing that came with four rebounds and three assists.
“Jeron knew that we needed him to be our go to guy. The boys didn’t want to lose the game and he carried us during that crucial play. It was a big play for us,” said coach Eric Altamirano.
Thomas Torres chipped in 16 markers and eight boards, while Gab Banal had 11 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
Flying V recovered from a 77-69 deficit in the final 4:04 as it went on a 14-2 tear, capped off by a Banal fastbreak.
Perkins scored on a leaner, which was followed by a huge three-pointer from Davon Potts to push Cignal up, 84-83 in the last 7.6 seconds, before Teng pulled off his biggest plays of the game.
