San Diego shares Jr chess lead

Filipino Woman Fide Master Marie Antoinette San Diego trounced Indonesian Vania Vindy Chandra and Singaporean Ruiqi Tin, respectively, to share the lead in the distaff side of the Eastern Asia Juniors Chess Championships in Tagaytay.

The 18-year-old San Diego raised her total to 2.0 points and remained tied with Malaysian WFMs Nur Nabila Azman Hisham and Nur Najiha Azman Hisham.

Trailing them at 1.5 points is WFM Shania Mae Mendoza, who beat Indonesian WFM Juwita Ardelia Sharfina.

Indonesian FMs Yoseph Theolifus and Novendra Prasmoro paced the boys’ division with a perfect 3.0 points after three rounds.
