Adamson University handed Flying V a 94-67 beating in a tune-up game in the Filoil preseason tournament Wednesday at the tournament’s namesake arena in San Juan.

The Soaring Falcons’ victory won’t reflect on the win-loss columns as this game was regarded as a practice game for the Thunder who are playing in the PBA D-League.

The Thunder, though, played without offensive stalwart Jeron Teng and their defensive anchor Jan Colina.

As Adamson played a non-bearing game, the skirmish allowed for the reserve Soaring Falcons to take on some quality minutes against the depleted Thunder.

“Coach Franz’ [Pumaren] instruction was to give those players who normally receive less playing time the chance to play,” said skipper Jack Santiago. “Everything went well and the first stringers got a bit of a break.”

“We have a new recruit, Alex Noble, and this game allowed him to be an integral part of our system.”

Noble played for 13 minutes and registered three rebounds.

No Soaring Falcon played for more than 20 minutes with Simon Camacho leading the way with 16 points while Jerrick Ahanmisi added 14.

Gab Banal led Flying V with 12 points.
