Adrian Young, Manny Pacquiao’s latest sparring mate, marveled at the Filipino ring superstar’s lethal combination of speed and power after their three-round session on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old Mexican also believes Jeff Horn won’t last in the ring with Pacquiao past the seventh round.
“Manny is very [fast],” said a wide-eyed Young, who expressed his excitement sharing the same ring with Pacquiao and being in the country for the first time. “He was very [fast] and he confused me with his speed.”
“Pacquiao KO in round seven,” said Young, who owns a record of 23-3-2 with 18 knockouts.
Young said Freddie Roach instructed him to use the ring and create distance during the sparring.
Pacquiao said the three rounds with Young helped him in familiarizing himself with the kind of style Horn has.
“He helps my training because his style is similar to the style of my opponent,” Pacquiao said.
The eight-division champion, however, opted not to give any predictions as to how the fight will end.
“I don’t give any predictions when it comes to my fights. I just see to it that I stay disciplined in training and do whatever I can during the fight.”
